Under the shimmering lights of Miami’s Wynwood Arts District, an intimate gathering of collectors, artists, and cultural connoisseurs raised a toast to four decades of vision, innovation, and artistic passion. On December 2, the Gary Nader Art Centre hosted a private gala honoring Gary Nader’s transformative 40-year career—an occasion that blended elegance, energy, and the unmistakable buzz of Miami Art Week.

Gary Nader’s name is synonymous with Latin American art and the cultural renaissance of Miami itself. Since opening his first gallery in 1985, Nader has championed artists whose work has reshaped the global understanding of modern and contemporary art. The gala celebrated not only his personal legacy but also the ecosystem he has nurtured: the Gary Nader Art Centre, the Nader Museum, the immersive Botero experience, and the Nader Sculpture Park in the Miami Design District. Together, these spaces have cemented Miami’s status as a destination where art and lifestyle intersect seamlessly.

The evening unfolded with an intimate dinner attended by international collectors, cultural leaders, and partners who have witnessed Nader’s journey firsthand. Conversations ebbed and flowed amid glimpses of the gallery’s storied collection, while the evening crescendoed with a live performance by Cimafunk, produced by Emilio Estefan—an unforgettable fusion of rhythm and celebration that epitomized the vibrancy of Miami’s cultural scene.

The gala also heralded the opening of a milestone exhibition: Picasso to Botero, officially unveiled on December 3 and on view through March 28, 2026. The exhibition pairs the pioneering genius of European modernism with the exuberant, expressive force of Latin American art, featuring rare works such as Pablo Picasso’s Two Children (1954) and Fernando Botero’s Flowers (2000). These pieces, never before exhibited together, illustrate an extraordinary dialogue across continents and generations, highlighting the ways in which these artists have shaped contemporary visual culture.

Nader’s influence extends far beyond individual works. Over four decades, he has elevated the international visibility of Latin American art, built one of the world’s most important private collections of Botero, and cultivated a cultural ecosystem that thrives on both education and experience. His gallery, sprawling across 55,000 square feet, is the world’s largest and most dynamic, housing more than 2,000 works from iconic figures including Basquiat, Chagall, Kahlo, Rivera, Warhol, Dubuffet, and Cruz-Diez. The Centre’s outdoor sculpture park, featuring more than 50 monumental installations, has become a must-see destination for both art lovers and the city’s luxury lifestyle set.

“Miami has grown into a global capital of contemporary art because of visionaries like Gary Nader,” a guest at the gala noted, capturing the sentiment of a city whose cultural heartbeat now resonates worldwide. The anniversary celebration not only honored a remarkable past but also hinted at future collaborations, programming, and exhibitions that will continue to elevate Miami’s cultural profile.

With Picasso to Botero now on display, visitors can experience the convergence of European and Latin American artistry firsthand—a testament to Nader’s enduring influence and to a city that has become a beacon of art, style, and innovation.

Along King Salman Road in Khobar, a sculptural canopy of brushed gold arcs above the desert horizon, catching and reflecting the light. Known simply as The Gold, the 32,550-square-metre development is redefining Saudi Arabia’s Eastern Province as a destination for culture, leisure, and design excellence. For Lemay, the Montreal-founded firm now firmly anchored in Dubai and Riyadh, it is both a signature project and a symbol of what the region’s next era of architecture can be.

“The Gold is about people,” says Amro El Chabti, Senior Partner at Lemay. “It’s designed for gathering, connection, and discovery, and intended as an environment that feels alive all year.”

A Vision for Modern Khobar

Khobar, once a quiet industrial city on the Arabian Gulf, is undergoing a remarkable transformation. With new investment in hospitality, arts, and public space, it is emerging as a cultural hub for the Eastern Province. The Gold captures that ambition: a multi-layered destination that unites luxury retail, dining, entertainment, and wellness under one sweeping form.

“You never see the whole site from the road,” El Chabti explains. “The arrival is intentional — it’s about anticipation. That sense of discovery, gradual revelation; that’s luxury.” Visitors move through shaded promenades and landscaped courtyards that reveal themselves gradually, echoing the rhythm of traditional marketplaces while introducing a contemporary sense of flow.

The Gold’s golden canopy shimmers above Khobar’s evolving skyline.

Shade, water, and movement transform the desert heat into an urban oasis.

Designed for Climate and Culture

At its heart lies the project’s defining gesture: a sweeping golden canopy that both shelters and distinguishes the site. “The weather is intense,” El Chabti says. “We integrated generous shading, natural ventilation, and landscaping to make outdoor spaces inviting year-round.” Water features and greenery temper the heat, creating a microclimate that transforms the plaza into a modern oasis.

“When it’s completed in 2027, the Gold will be more than a building, it will be an integral part of Khobar’s new rhythm ,” says Amro El Chabti of Lemay’s flagship project in Saudi Arabia’s Eastern Province.

Beneath the canopy, the experience unfolds across a series of programs: restaurants and cafés overlooking a public square, a six-screen cinema complex that includes an outdoor screening venue, a bowling centre for families, and a wellness facility exclusively for women. Each element is crafted to balance spectacle and ease, with architecture acting as invitation rather than display.

Shade, water, and movement transform the desert heat into an urban oasis.

Beneath the canopy, cafés, cinemas, and cultural spaces pulse with energy.

Collaboration Across Time Zones

Behind the project is a network of collaboration spanning across  America, Europe and the Middle East. Lemay’s teams worked in close collaboration with local partners in Saudi Arabia to translate design ideas into buildable solutions that respected codes, craft, and context. “Design moves seamlessly across time zones,” El Chabti notes. “That’s the beauty of a global studio — creativity never sleeps.”

That exchange extended beyond logistics. By combining international expertise with local craftsmanship, the project demonstrates how global design can amplify, rather than overshadow, regional identity. Materials were sourced with sensitivity to both climate and culture; construction techniques were refined to meet the region’s environmental goals without compromising elegance.

A Symbol of Transformation

As Saudi Arabia advances its Vision 2030 agenda, The Gold stands as a marker of change — a place where community and commerce coexist, and where design becomes a public language. “The project celebrates gathering, hospitality, and design excellence,” El Chabti says. “It shows what’s possible when expertise and ambition align on both sides.”

The result is architecture that feels both inevitable and new: a space that belongs to its city while pointing to its future. “You can feel the city changing as we build,” El Chabti adds. “We are actively participating in shaping Khobar’s urban landscape.”

The project won the Jury Prize at the Archello Awards in the Unbuilt Leisure Project of the Year category.

Founded in Miami by Paul Chavez, SELEZIONE has built a reputation for transforming complex visions into flawless realities. Every project follows a carefully orchestrated journey, ensuring that the original vision is not only preserved but brought to life with uncompromising excellence. In this interview, Paul Chavez answers key questions that reveal how SELEZIONE turns vision into flawless execution.

Understanding and Engineering the Vision

Once a client or designer approaches you with a vision, what is your first step?

The first step is always listening. We take time to fully understand the client’s vision, the designer’s intent, and the overall context of the project. From there, we begin a collaborative process reviewing drawings, material selections, and timelines to ensure that every detail aligns with what’s being asked. Our goal is to bring clarity, feasibility, and technical insight to the table from day one.

How does SELEZIONE translate design concepts into engineered, buildable solutions?

Once we receive the design, our technical team transforms the concept into fully engineered, buildable solutions. This includes developing detailed shop drawings and production models, selecting the right materials, and coordinating closely with our network of Italian artisans and manufacturers. Every element is reviewed for both aesthetics and technical performance. We make sure the design works not just in theory, but in practice.

Ensuring Quality Before Shipping

What role does your team play in pre-assembling and validating elements in Italy before shipment?

Pre-assembly is a key part of our quality control. All elements are fully assembled and validated in Italy before being packed for shipment. This step allows us to check for fit, finish, alignment, and mechanical functionality, minimizing surprises on site. It also allows for more efficient installation since everything has already been tested under our supervision.

What does your global logistics process look like – how do you ensure materials arrive on time and in perfect condition?

We manage the entire logistics chain in-house. From production timelines to export documentation and delivery schedules, everything is planned down to the last detail. Materials are carefully packed, labeled, and crated to ensure safe transport. We work with trusted international freight partners and remain in close communication with the project team so that everything arrives on time, in the right sequence, and in perfect condition.

Installation and Complex Challenges

Who manages installation on-site? Is it always your team or do you collaborate with local crews?

We handle the entire installation process with our own dedicated installation crew whether the project is in town or anywhere else in the world. This gives us full control over the quality and precision of the final outcome. From unpacking to final touch-ups, our team is present on-site to ensure everything is delivered exactly as planned.

Can you share a project where the installation process was particularly complex or impressive?

Many of our projects are protected by strict NDAs, but we’ve completed numerous high-end private residences involving highly technical installations. We’ve produced and installed custom kitchens, wine cellars, full-height paneling, integrated doors, walk-in closets, and a range of architectural elements, always based on designs provided by the client’s architect or interior designer.

“For us, flawless execution means delivering exactly what was promised with zero compromises.”

One particularly complex project involved a remote residence where we delivered large-scale curved millwork, temperature-sensitive finishes, and architectural paneling that had to align perfectly with on-site conditions. Everything was pre-assembled and quality checked in Italy then shipped in carefully sequenced crates. Our team flew in and handled the full installation, ensuring a seamless result. Projects like these are where our full-scope capabilities truly shine.

Anticipating and Achieving Perfection

What part of this behind-the-scenes process do clients typically underestimate?

Clients often underestimate how much coordination is required between fabrication and site conditions. Even small factors such as slight wall deviations, HVAC obstructions, or access limitations can affect final installation. That’s why we stay involved from the very beginning to anticipate these challenges and resolve them before they become issues.

What does “flawless execution” mean for you – and how do you ensure it every time?

For us, flawless execution means delivering exactly what was promised with zero compromises. That means precision engineering, clear communication with all project stakeholders, rigorous pre-assembly, and hands-on involvement through installation. Every step is carefully planned and personally managed. That’s how we ensure excellence every time.

At the heart of SELEZIONE lies more than craftsmanship—it’s a philosophy. Founded in Miami by Paul Chavez, SELEZIONE is guided by values of integrity, precision, and discipline that shape not only its work but its way of thinking. In this exclusive interview, Paul Chavez takes us behind the scenes to reveal how SELEZIONE’s structure, leadership, and uncompromising standards set a timeless benchmark for excellence in luxury projects worldwide.

Core Values and Philosophy

What core values define SELEZIONE as a company, beyond design and fabrication? How are these values reflected in your daily decisions?

At SELEZIONE, our core values are integrity, precision, transparency, and long-term thinking. While design and fabrication are our mediums, what defines us is our obsession with detail and respect for relationships. Whether with clients, collaborators, or materials. These values guide everything we do, from the way we communicate timelines to how we handle delays or unexpected technical issues.

Structure and Team Dynamics

What makes your internal structure unique compared to other companies in this industry? How is your team organized to ensure quality at every level?

Our structure is lean, hands-on, and deeply collaborative. We intentionally avoid traditional silos; design, production, and project management are constantly in dialogue. Every team member is trained to see projects not just as tasks but as living systems. This interconnectedness allows us to spot issues before they surface and to uphold the same level of quality from concept to installation. We also keep close contact with our fabricators in Italy, which gives us exceptional control over outcomes.

What qualities do you look for when building your team or selecting collaborators? Is there a common mindset or work ethic you expect?

We look for people who have taste, discipline, and humility. Not just talent, but the ability to own a mistake, speak up early, and obsess over the right millimeter. Whether it’s a drafter or a metalworker, we’re drawn to collaborators who are calm under pressure, take pride in craftsmanship, and are driven by excellence—not by speed or shortcuts. There’s a shared mindset: if it’s not right, we’re not done.

“If it’s not right, we’re not done.”

Leadership and Process

How would you describe your leadership style at SELEZIONE, especially when it comes to guiding clients, designers, and partners?

Our leadership style is quietly assertive, deeply informed, and solutions oriented. We guide with confidence, not ego. Clients come to us not just for execution but for clarity in complexity. We simplify the chaos of custom work. Whether we’re working with a high-profile designer or a first-time developer, we lead by bringing calm, structure, and practical insight to the process.

What part of your process clients rarely see – but is crucial to delivering perfection?

One of the most critical parts of our process happens behind the scenes: the constant coordination and alignment between all involved. Clients often don’t see the hours spent reviewing drawings, verifying material compatibility, and ensuring that every detail is clearly communicated across teams. We act as the connective tissue between architects, fabricators, logistics partners, and installers, making sure everyone is working with the same level of precision. That quiet orchestration is what allows everything to come together flawlessly on site.

Exclusive Luxury Magazine is honored to present an exclusive interview with Alicia Cervera Lamadrid, a name synonymous with luxury real estate in Miami. As Managing Partner and Principal of Cervera Real Estate, Alicia represents not only a storied family legacy but also the vision and innovation that have shaped Miami’s skyline.

Born in Havana and raised in Miami, Alicia grew up immersed in the world of real estate, watching her mother, Alicia Cervera Sr., transform a vacation town into a thriving urban center. With decades of experience, Alicia has built on this foundation to position Miami as a global hub for luxury living. In this feature, we delve into her journey, insights, and the legacy of Cervera Real Estate.

Q&A with Alicia Cervera Lamadrid

Cervera Real Estate has been a cornerstone of Miami’s luxury real estate market for over four decades. What has been your guiding vision throughout this journey?

Developing the city we have today has always been our guiding vision. When my family arrived in Miami, it was a small vacation town with incredible natural blessings—the ocean, weather, and light. My mother envisioned a vertical city where there was only a horizontal town, and she acted on that vision.

She started selling homes to make ends meet after we lost everything in Cuba. But one day, she realized it would be more practical to sell an entire building rather than just one home. That approach paved the way for our work with high-rises, which transformed Miami into the vibrant, international city it is today.

Since then, we’ve marketed over 130 buildings and 70,000 units, working with developers, architects, and designers from all over the world. Miami has become a global melting pot, much like New York during the Ellis Island era. The city thrives on the talent and capital people bring, whether they’re contributing ideas or working with their hands. It’s that collective effort that built the Miami we know today.

What’s the biggest lesson you’ve learned about navigating Miami’s ever-changing real estate landscape?

If it isn’t illegal or immoral, and it sounds like a good idea, you should try it. That mindset has been key to innovation in real estate. Whether it’s a new marketing strategy, a financing structure, or a product type, the magic often lies in fringe ideas.

I believe in starting with a “yes.” Explore the possibilities and pivot to “no” only when necessary. That willingness to embrace the unknown is critical in a market like Miami, where transformation is constant.

Miami has seen explosive growth in luxury real estate. How do you describe the market today?

Miami is in a perpetual state of transformation. Every five years, the city seems unrecognizable to newcomers, which is a testament to how rapidly it evolves.

When I look at the skyline today, I’m reminded that most of the buildings I see didn’t exist when I arrived. Cranes have been a constant feature of the city for decades. Miami’s market is incredibly dynamic, fueled by local and international demand. Challenges arise, but solutions emerge just as quickly, whether through financing innovations or the arrival of new investors.

How do you balance honoring your family’s legacy with driving innovation?

The best way to honor a legacy is to keep doing the right thing for the right reasons. That doesn’t mean sticking to the same methods; it means adhering to core values while evolving with the times.

Legacy is also about resilience—continuing the work even when it’s exhausting or complicated. For my family, that meant embracing change while remaining true to our vision of a vibrant, inclusive Miami.

Neighborhoods like Wynwood and Edgewater have emerged as vibrant areas. How do they compare to traditional hubs like Brickell or Miami Beach?

Miami was once a city without true neighborhoods. Over time, distinct areas have developed, each with a unique personality. Wynwood, for instance, has evolved from a warehouse district into a creative hub. Edgewater and the Design District now attract those drawn to arts, culture, and modern amenities.

Traditional neighborhoods like Brickell and Miami Beach continue to thrive, offering luxury living and established infrastructure. What’s remarkable about Miami is the diversity within and between neighborhoods, both in lifestyle and price point. That mix creates a dynamic urban fabric.

Miami’s architecture has become a defining feature of its luxury market. What role does design play in the city’s appeal?

Architecture is integral to Miami’s identity. We’ve been fortunate to work with world-renowned architects who have elevated our skyline, from Bjarke Ingels to Antonio Citterio. Developers here understand the importance of creating iconic buildings that stand out, not just during the day but also at night through thoughtful lighting.

Miami’s zoning laws have allowed for the creation of supertalls in the urban core while preserving the character of neighborhoods like Coral Gables and Coconut Grove. The result is a cityscape that blends innovation with respect for its roots.

Sustainability is becoming a global priority. How is Miami addressing this in luxury real estate?

Sustainability is on everyone’s mind. We’re selling projects like The Residences at 1428 Brickell, which features solar panels covering its entire west facade. Innovations like rainwater collection systems and hurricane-resilient designs are also becoming standard.

Miami’s position as a coastal city brings unique challenges, but we’ve embraced forward-thinking solutions. For example, newer developments incorporate water management systems to mitigate storm surges. Sustainability is not just a necessity; it’s an opportunity to enhance the quality and resilience of our city.

What advice would you give readers considering a move or investment in Miami?

Do it now. Miami’s appeal only grows, and waiting often means paying more and missing out on all the city has to offer. Miami is like a great love affair—it only gets better with time.

What sets Cervera Real Estate apart in this competitive market?

Cervera Real Estate is deeply rooted in Miami. We’re locally owned and operated, which allows us to offer a level of personalized service that’s rare in an international city.

When you work with us, it’s not just about finding a home—it’s about finding your place in Miami. We help clients with everything from discovering the perfect property to connecting them with the community, whether that’s a great hairdresser or their next best friend.

In today’s luxury market, where style can sometimes overshadow substance, SELEZIONE is quietly rewriting the rules. Founded by Paul Chavez, the Miami-based studio redefines luxury living by meticulously crafting bespoke environments where every detail is a masterpiece — engineered, refined, and executed with relentless precision.

“If I owned a five-star hotel, it would reflect the highest level of excellence — because I value precision, dedication, and craftsmanship in everything I do.”

Paul Chavez is not an interior designer, and he’s the first to say it. What he is, however, is a master fabricator — the kind who prefers to oversee every detail personally, ensuring each collaborator meets the highest standards. He obsesses over samples, jets to Italy to pre-approve finishes, and believes excellence isn’t optional — it’s expected.

Originally known for CH Construction Group — the high-end residential and commercial firm he co-founded with his brother — Paul launched SELEZIONE five years ago as a solution to a growing problem: vendors who couldn’t meet his standards.

“I realized that to maintain the level of excellence we strive for, we needed to build an in-house team fully aligned with our commitment to quality and detail.”

What began as a side solution — sending samples from Italy — grew into a showroom and material library that now supports some of the most luxurious homes in Miami and beyond. Think Beckham-level bespoke. Think Ivanka Trump’s private interiors. Think $3 million in millwork for a single residence. SELEZIONE was never meant to be secondary — it quickly became a flagship in its own right.

Beyond the Grain

Everything is fabricated in Italy. Each element undergoes pre-assembly in controlled studio environments before being packed and shipped — along with IKEA-level instructions — to Miami, Dubai, Detroit, or wherever the project demands. SELEZIONE’s installation teams travel globally, ready to assemble bespoke environments with the ease of artisans who know the product inside and out.

A Material World

Step inside the Miami showroom and you’ll find more than just design inspiration. SELEZIONE functions as a working library — a space where designers can bring clients, select materials, and finalize samples all in one setting. Powder-coated metal meets soft suede. Leather options run the gamut from matte to polished. Everything, as Paul puts it, is ready to be touched, tested, and brought to life.

This tactile approach speaks directly to today’s design trends — which, according to Paul, are leaning natural, curved, and organic.

“People are returning to the earth. They want light plaster, micro-cement, warm wood, soft curves. The colors are grounded — pastels, travertines, materials that feel honest.”

He credits Italy’s Salone del Mobile for driving much of this inspiration, noting the cyclical return of vintage materials like Verde Alpi marble — once considered outdated — now being modernized into striking statements.

The Client Journey

SELEZIONE’s clientele includes A-list names and UHNW families, but the process is consistent. Most clients work through their interior designers, who coordinate directly with Paul’s team. Once designs are approved and samples selected, SELEZIONE takes over — engineering, fabricating, shipping, and installing with clockwork efficiency.

“Our job is to make sure there are no surprises,” Paul says. “That means being two steps ahead — even of the client.”

This dedication to detail is no accident. It stems from Paul’s roots — born in Ecuador, immigrating to the U.S. as a child, and starting his first construction company at the age of 20. That early hunger — to create, to exceed expectations, to control outcomes — continues to drive him.

“It’s not about money,” he adds. “It’s about creating something that works so well someone else wants to buy it — and then I can move on and create something new.”

A Relentless Standard

Paul isn’t just building millwork. He’s crafting a design philosophy — one rooted in harmony, precision, and a profound respect for materials. At SELEZIONE, every detail is intentional. Every finish tells a story. And every project reflects a deeper pursuit: to create spaces that are as personal as they are beautiful.

This is luxury not as excess, but as mastery — quiet, confident, and enduring.

“There’s always a next level — and I’m already thinking about how to get there.”

With a global clientele, a growing legacy, and a design library unlike anything else in Miami, SELEZIONE isn’t just setting a new standard — it’s redefining the experience of custom living, one exquisite detail at a time.

Why You Need a Real Advisor for the Right Yacht, the Right Deal, and the Right Future

Technology has its place, no question about it. But when it comes to something as complex, personal, and valuable as buying or selling a yacht, what you truly need is a trusted advisor. Someone who doesn’t just understand the specs, but lives the lifestyle. Someone who’s not just closing a deal, but securing the right deal, for today, and for the years ahead.

As a Certified Professional Yacht Broker (CPYB) and the former Head of Marketing and Sales at MarineMax Miami — the largest recreational marine company in the world — I’ve had the privilege of working with everyone from first-time yacht owners to seasoned global clients and family offices. Now, as President of Beyond Yacht Group, I bring that experience into a boutique, client-first approach focused on one thing: getting it right for you from the start.

Every Yacht Has a Match — Let’s Find Yours

Yachts aren’t one-size-fits-all, and neither are yacht owners. Some clients want to cruise South Florida and the Bahamas with family and friends. Others have long-range travel, chartering, or a future upgrade in mind.

Understanding how you’ll use the vessel isn’t a side note, it’s the foundation of a smart acquisition. From layout and propulsion to flagging and financing, every detail affects how you enjoy and manage the yacht, and how easily you’ll transition to the next.

That’s the difference between simply buying a boat and making a strategic acquisition. I don’t just help you buy a yacht, I help you make a move that sets you up for long-term success and supports your vision.

Real Strategy, Not Just Listings

As a licensed, experienced, and CPYB-certified yacht broker, I’m trained in every aspect of the transaction, from contracts and compliance to international logistics and federal regulations.

But more importantly, I know how to apply that knowledge in ways that protect you and open up opportunities. Together, we’ll address the questions that matter:

• How will your vessel be flagged?
• Are there tax efficiencies available?
• Is chartering part of your ownership strategy?
• How will today’s decision affect resale value down the line?

These aren’t just fine print, they’re pivotal factors that define your entire ownership experience.

Resale Starts on Day One

Here’s what many overlook: the day you buy is also the day you start preparing to sell smart.

Whether that’s three years from now or ten, the yacht you choose today should position you for a favorable exit when you’re ready for the next chapter.

At Beyond Yacht Group, we consider the full arc of ownership. We help you select vessels with strong resale potential, advise on high-value upgrades, and structure deals that keep your future flexible. Because in yachting, how you exit is just as important as how you enter.

A Boutique Brokerage That Works for You

At Beyond Yacht Group, we’re not just selling yachts, we’re building long-term relationships.

We operate as a boutique, client-centric agency, tailoring every step to your needs and expectations. You’ll work directly with me, no hand-offs, no confusion, no shortcuts.

From scouting and negotiation to documentation, delivery, and resale planning, we manage the entire lifecycle of your yachting journey with precision and discretion.

Let’s Get to Work

Yachting should be about freedom, enjoyment, and unforgettable memories, not red tape and second-guessing.
